A Time for Europeans to Choose

As my regular readers will observe I am not only taking a Russia-friendly approach on my blogs but I am posting articles which are actively calling for the European Union to build and strengthen a rapport with the Russian Federation as a friend and partner of the EU.

Ex-chancellor Gerhardt Schroeder is right to see Russia's destiny to be with the European Union. Moreover, I would like to see the Russian Federation join the EU but recognise that to be a pipe-dream, at least for now. Firstly, the EU would feel threatened by the prospect of its huge neighbour swamping the rest and secondly, the US would never allow such a threat to its global, imperial pretensions to materialise.

The present danger that we face in Europe is not from Russia but from the continued trouble-making instigated by self-serving neocons ensconced in the White House and their errand-boys in Downing Street and the east European EU. These fifth-columnists are on the payroll of US imperialism and have no wish to see a united Europe developing a foreign policy independently of the US. They would rather that the EU take on a 'Euro-Atlantic' role together with Washington's cat's paw, NATO, under US global military-economic hegemony.

Any sane person would see that such an arrangement, the present status quo, not only results in the destabilising of European security --as we have seen recently result in the Caucasus-- but that it puts Europe under the constant threat of regional war exacerbated and provoked by US interference. Saakashvili is not the only madman to have wheedled his way into power in eastern Europe. There are other narrow-minded fanatics and opportunists, for example in Poland, the Czech Republic and the Ukraine, who would be more than willing to do the bidding of neocon bosses in the USA to bring destruction upon the heads of Europeans.

Some of us remember how the US planned its nuclear strategy in the 'eighties to include a European Theatre of War, meaning a 'limited' nuclear exchange with the old Soviet Union to include Europe and not the north American continent. That threat led to the growth of a huge Peace Movement in Europe and an equal loss of US popularity. It is ironic that the US appears to be free now to develop its First Strike nuclear doctrine of 'Compellance' with the installation of the ABM missile shield (more of that anon) with no such resistance from Europeans.

The ABM shield is certainly not popular either amongst the people of Poland or the Czech Republic where public opinion is simply being ignored by opportunist, pro-US governments. While crowing about the need for representative democracy amongst others, the Atlanticists' own record in that concern is, to say the least, deplorable. While ruthless imperialism by war criminals is ok for the Good Guys of the West where Might is Right the slightest sign of the East's approaching western atrocities is noisily denounced. It's all rather yawningly tiresome.

At least one Russian strategist is warning us that the conflict in the Caucasus is by no means over and that the mischief-makers in Washington DC will now be looking to cause a bigger crisis in the Ukraine which could lead to civil war and a confrontation between Russia and the West. As well as that, the ongoing threat of a surprise attack by the US proxy, Israel, with or without support from the US military during the time prior to the November presidential election, puts us all on a Red Alert.

The need for a collective, friendly European initiative towards Russia is now needed urgently. As France's Foreign Minister, Bernard Kouchner, is reported to have said the other day in respect of our need to build a common alliance with Russia:

"We have to be together. The US have their own views, but we are living close to Russia. We need to develop our own policy, a neighbouring policy. We have to talk about our views of being close to Russia, a great country, a partner."

Kouchner, of course, is absolutely right. It's not surrender-monkey talk but that of the pragmatic, classic diplomacy for which while France is traditionally famed is anathema to the fanatics who still rule the dual-party, opposame dictatorship in the USA. Kouchner, all credit to him, speaks as a European, unlike the traitorous Brown and Miliband who will happily sell out the interests of their own people in order to ensure a continued political sodomy by their American minders.

It's time to cut the crap and deal with matters of survival. The hour is already very, very late. Homegrown Europhobes who continue to bleat about a 'fascist EU state' are their and our worst enemy. For all their talk about a loss of 'sovereign' powers the reality is that they would rather Britain forsake its European partners to continue as a vassal state of Washington DC, serving the warmongering interests of the notorious Anglo-American fraternities responsible for the deaths of 70 million Europeans in two world wars.

So which is it to be, fellow Britons? Will you, as Europeans, choose a common destiny where Europe and Russia coexist together in peace or are you prepared, through inaction, to allow your quisling leaders continue with a diabolical 'special relationship' which has caused so much bloodshed and misery on this war-torn Planet? The time to decide has come and the time for dithering is ended.

What with all the media spin by the UK Government and the European Union and the shallow analysis and reporting by the mainstream media, we are puzzled as to what exactly has been agreed at the European Union summit in Brussels this weekend.

We are still especially worried about what exactly Tony Blair and Gordon Brown have agreed to with regard to the European Union Reform Treaty and especially, the legally binding Charter of Fundamental Rights (.pdf) These sort of follow the European Convention on Human Rights and the UK's Human Rights Act 2000:

Article 7 Respect for private and family life

Everyone has the right to respect for his or her private and family life, home and communications.

Article 8 Protection of personal data

1. Everyone has the right to the protection of personal data concerning him or her.

2. Such data must be processed fairly for specified purposes and on the basis of the consent of the person concerned or some other legitimate basis laid down by law. Everyone has the right of access to data which has been collected concerning him or her, and the right to have it rectified.

3. Compliance with these rules shall be subject to control by an independent authority.

However, there are significant differences i,e, there are no explicit exemptions for the Government using vague weasel words like "national security" or "the prevention or detection of crime" or "public health" or "the economic interests of the UK" etc. which so much UK legislation has embedded into it.

Is there really a workable United Kingdom "opt out" from these clauses ?

If so, then why should we tolerate authoritarian Labour politicians who seek to deny us these human rights, which are enjoyed and legally enforced by the rest of the European Union ?

We demand that these existing human rights are upheld now and ratified by this UK Government and all future ones.

Although this article was published last June the points being made are still highly relevant. The Blair/Brown regime has cunningly cashed in on the innate Europhobia of the British (and in particular the English) by using a wholly unfounded disaffection among Brits for the European Union to exert pressure on other member nations and the Commission in order to extract 'concessions' from the Union, not in the interests of the common people but on behalf of the vested interests of British capital and the ruling classes.

The high level of ignorance and Europhobic prejudice amongst Brits was deliberately nurtured by British politicians and their attendant media in order to use it as a weapon against progressive European social and civil rights.

At the recent meeting at Lisbon, not only did the Brits insist on their right to opt put of the new Charter but went out of their way to water-down the Charter nevertheless. Proof indeed of the mischievous intent of the Brits to act as a reactionary force within the EU working, no doubt, in the interests of Washington's neocons.

The British, along with others on the Right in countries like Poland, are now seen by other Europeans to be a trojan horse for Washington. They play an entirely destructive role as an adversary of the EU. While doing so they ensure that their own people are kept ignorant of the deceptive game they are playing.

Ultimately, it is the British people who will pay the price and that they have now begun to do with Britain's inexorable slide into becoming a full-blown police state. The time has already come when those of us in Britain who consider ourselves to be rightfully citizens of Europe to mobilize ourselves against these tinpot dictators. All is not yet lost and I believe the time has come, as European citizens, to make a direct appeal to the European Union to help us protect our fundamental civil rights against an oppressive, domestic government.

My readers will have noticed by now that this blog is headed by the European flag under which is stated that Chimes of Freedom is both Eurosocialist and Antifascist.

Non-British readers may not be aware of the ongoing campaign by the extreme Right against Britain's membership of the European Union. These Europhobes --more kindly described as Eurosceptics-- are a motley group of Little Englanders, mainly of a xenophobic and reactionary right persuasion.

But, having lost an Empire and any sense of raison d'etre, it is not only the usual blimpish right that lays a claim to exercise British xenophobia. The malaise stretches right across the social and political spectrum to include a lot of lefties lost in a political wilderness and without an ideological home.

Whereas the concept of a united, European Left is both a popular and normal phenomenon in continental Europe, the British Left has retained its traditional aloofness and pukka attitudes by not joining that common European front. 'Europe' is referred to as 'somewhere over there' as if Britain is somehow separated from Europe.

Of course this is nonsense. Britain is and has always been indivisibly part of Europe in its geography, its culture, its religion, its politics and its language. Only in a strangely schizophrenic British attitude of mind will you find Britain to be a separate entity, where when fog obscures the Channel it is the Continent that is cut off, not this overcrowded little island.

And due, no doubt, to the dumbing-down of the British mainstream media (MSM) even the Continent is no longer referred to as such. It has become 'Europe', something which Britain is not part of. The traditionally conservative outlook of the Brit has become so insular it would rather cut off all contact with the non-English speaking world to live in an artificial bubble of unreality which it hopes will be forever England.

It is part of a serious social malaise that is now so advanced it is eating at the imperial foundations upon which the very United Kingdom itself was built. Britain is in post-imperial collapse and in denial, projecting instead its unhappiness with itself on 'Europe' and immigration.

This social malaise (or is psychosis a more appropriate description?) is now so widespread that Britain provides the Basil Fawlty-type xenophobic Right with a breeding ground for the narrow-minded, petty bourgeois attitudes that Mrs Thatcher implanted in the susceptible British psyche.

The so-called demand for what is referred to as a referendum on Europe perfectly describes the spell of reactionary-minded xenophobia the British (predominantly the English) have fallen under. Disguised by a blimpish indignation against having to use metric measurements instead of imperial ones and driving 'on the wrong side of the road' (it appears that most of the world has been driving on the wrong side) this xenophobia is currently expressing itself as (i) Europhobia, (ii) a general hostility towards immigration, and (iii) an Islamophobia fuelled by the Bush/Blair fake 'War on Terror'.

As an ex-colonial Brit, I am able to gauge and understand the British mentality both from a peculiarly British view of things as well as to perceive it from an arm's-length-view of one who still has a colonial memory of being at the receiving end of British attitudes.

The world-famous Canadian author of The English Patient, Michael Ondaatje, is a fellow expatriate of mine. His father, Mervyn, a planter in the old colonial Ceylon of the 1930's, was a pal of my old man who was also a planter. The Ondaatjes used to visit my family from time to time and my elder sisters have a memory of Michael as a rather tubby, aloof little chap who used to love scoffing on a can of condensed milk.

In his book, Running in the Family, Michael Ondaatje writes of an occasion when Mervyn, who rather worse for drink, held up the Colombo to Kandy train by running along the top to the engine, getting the driver drunk on arrack, leaping off the hotplate to strip off his clothes and run naked into a tunnel from whence he refused to emerge, thereby playing havoc with the Ceylon Government Railways' wartime schedule.

But why did a Ceylon Army Light Infantry officer have to run along the top of the train?

Because, as a dusky Eurasian, he with every other non-white officer was forbidden to walk through the train's corridors where there were compartments occupied by pukka white officers of the stiff upper lip British raj. That kind of mixing simply wouldn't do. It just wasn't British.

Eurasians of my ilk grew up with a memory of the precious white attitudes of Brits who walked around Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) with a permanent, invisible wall of separateness that kept them in a constant state of undeclared apartheid from the rest of the dark-skinned rabble. Fortunately for me, any fake ideas of British or white superiority that might have been implanted within by colonial conditioning was soon knocked out in the nationalist upsurge of the 1950's when British colonialism was thrown unceremoniously out of the window.

That nationalist reaction to four hundred years of colonial rule, first by the Portuguese, then by the Dutch and finally by the English, was understandable. But sadly, like all extreme reactions, it too was destructive leading to the fifty-year civil war that Sri Lanka experiences to this day. But that's another story.

Returning to the white, pukka attitudes of the British mentality: really, nothing has changed very much since it lost its Empire. The pukka attitudes simply submerged into a quite artificial, Basil Fawlty-type 'Britishness' and continued to emerge as a desperate distaste and even hostility towards 'coloureds', foreigners in general and now, together with the rest of Europe, as Islamophobia.

But none of these things can be admitted to. The British believe themselves to be far too tolerant and fair-minded for that. So they have to be thinly disguised by entirely nonsensical rationales such as a pretend 'Euroscepticism' which hides a fully-blown Europhobic, xenophobia.

A xenophobia which is a sign of an endemic mental weakness or malaise, exposing Britain as the perennial sick man of Europe. A sickness which right-wing politicians, 'neo-liberals', Atlanticists and Washington's Neocon, closet fascists fully use to their advantage to drive a wedge between Britain and the rest of the European Union.

It is highly significant that an anti-EU Referendum rally is to be held in London next week, preceded the day before by the blimpish racists of the No Sharia Here SIOE, led by the Fawlty-like Stephen Gash and masterminded by the ubiquitous political opportunist, the Danish Anders Gravers. You can be sure that a lot of the Islamophobes marching on October 26 will also be marching in the EU Referendum rally. The same petty-bourgeois closet-racists are behind both Islamophobia and Europhobia.

And these phobic types are being supported by media tyrants like Rupert Murdoch who, like the criminal Conrad Black, not only support the Bush fascists but would have Britain out of the EU and into the economic hegemony of the North American Free Trade Association (NAFTA).

Ever since the end of WWII, Britain has been under the military hegemony of the US and its foreign policy. During the Thatcher years, Britain became 'Airstrip One', a forward base for US imperialism and potential nuclear attack in a European Theatre of War. But it remained, on the whole, within the economic hegemony of the European Community, later Union.

Thatcher never like that idea and cashed-in on the natural anti-European sentiments of Britain's Basil Fawlty mentality by keeping Britain out of the Euro and the Maastricht treaty.

Homegrown xenophobic, Europhobia also provided the Thatcherites and their successors, the Blair/Brownites, with the political clout to opt out of various areas of European legislation meant to protect the rights of trades unions and, through the Working Directive, to provide a maximum limit of 48 hours to the working week.

Using Newspeak and by turning reality on its head, this socially progressive legislation by the European Union was presented to a wholly prejudiced and tranced-out British audience as somehow a threat to British liberties! And this in a country which remains the historical cradle of trades unionism and the struggle for a 40-hour week which, when finally obtained, was done in by Thatcher and her peculiarly British form of fascism.

Thus, in today's dark ages, even a 48-hour week is presented by British capitalists as something that we progressive Brits would rather not have! And, together with having opted out of that social legislation, the closet-fascists and their Tory fellow-travellers in the Cameron party of Neocons would have us give away our human rights as well, the Human Rights Act of 1999 being presented by Britain's lying media as something which militates against and threatens our human rights!

A Human Rights Act, by the way, which it took 49 years for the complacent Brits to get around to legislate into its own laws, such was the reluctance of the British ruling classes to deal with anything that smacked of rights for the lower classes! And now the Brits are being conned into believing that 'Europe threatens its independence'! In the 51st State what independence does Britain have? The British bubble of unreality again!

Reich Fieldmarshall Hermann Goering was right in one thing at least when he predicted in 1940 that in twenty years time Britain would become an overcrowded little island living on the glories of its past.

Overcrowded, yes. But not by immigrants. By a breakdown of infrastructure and public transport and an overpopulation of private transport. Living on the glories of its past, yes. But where the Neocon fascists in Washington are calculatedly using British xenophobia, nostalgia and an entirely false belief in its independence to stir-up racism, religious hate and persecution and to persuade a generation of British working people, ignorant of their past struggles, to forsake all their hard-earned rights by turning its back on protective European social legislation.

The call for a Referendum is a fake, carefully packaged by the Right to sound as if it were something to do with free speech. The same free speech which the Right constantly abuse by using it to promote xenophobia, race hate and to attack the people's social and civil rights.

It is for these reasons that Chimes of Freedom remains solidly Eurosocialist, in defence of the people's rights, and Antifascist against the pukka white nonsense of xenophobia and imperialist racism.

If the MSM's endless chatter about whether or not or when troop withdrawals might take place in Iraq and Afghanistan is to be believed the idea is that troop withdrawals will take place sooner or later.

Reality Check: don't believe a word of it.

Why should you when they don't, pumping out interminable spin as they do, processed and fed them by the Bush and Blair governments?

The reality is that USUK troops are going to be occupying Iraq and Afghanistan for decades.

Permanently.

A recent MoD paper, reported in The Telegraph, in the UK talks about five years:

Britain's "overstretched" armed forces will fight in Iraq for at least another five years ... troops will be serving on operations in the Gulf until at least 2012.

The contents of the document, distributed last month, appear to be in marked contrast to a statement made by Tony Blair in February giving the impression that British troops would remain in Iraq for less than two years. He said: "The UK military presence will continue into 2008". Mr Blair told the Commons: "Increasingly our role will be support and training, and our numbers will be able to reduce accordingly."

Patrick Mercer, a former infantry colonel and former Tory homeland security spokesman, said: "The reality is that many troops will remain in Iraq for the foreseeable future and continue to take casualties."

Senior commanders also revealed the number of troops committed to Afghanistan is likely to increase over the next two years.

In a recent report, A Duty to Mislead: Politics and the Iraq War, on US National Public Radio, broadcaster Ted Koppel stated:

"Democrats are telling voters that if they are elected, all U.S. troops will be pulled out of Iraq. But as Sen. Hillary Clinton privately told a senior military adviser, she knows there will be some troops there for decades. It's an example of how in some cases, politics can force dishonesty."

"In a recent interview with the New York Times," Koppel continues, "Senator Clinton emphasized that there are remaining vital national security issues [clearly oil] in Iraq and that these would require a continuing deployment of American troops."

"She didn't, in that interview, give any sense of how long U.S. forces might remain in Iraq during a Clinton administration."

And to an old military friend of Koppel's Clinton revealed how, were she to be elected and then re-elected, "she would still expect U.S. forces to be in Iraq at the end of a second term."

"When, oh when," Koppel despairs, "is that deadly serious issue going to become the topic of an equally serious and candid discussion? When, in other words, will we get the brutal truth in place of vapid and misleading campaign applause lines?"

Well, the brutal truth is finally seeping out, proving that the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan was, all along, to capture and occupy areas of strategic and economic importance to the U.S. led multinational corporations: oil and gas.

Now we have a ruling class toff, Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles would you believe, the new UK Ambassador to Afghanistan, telling the ever servile Huw Edwards of BBC News 24 that the British will have to remain in Afghanistan for "a long time ... we should be thinking in terms of decades."

On being questioned why the British are building a huge new embassy in Kabul (as are the Americans in Baghdad) Sir Sherard admitted that "strategic interests" required it.

"Ministers realize we are here for the long haul."

All this fits in perfectly with the neocons' Blueprint for a New American Century which calls for geopolitical wars to seize and occupy areas of the world containing minerals and resources vital to the U.S. 'security (read corporate capitalist) interests.' It is also why U.S. generals have been telling their troops for some time now to get used to the idea of long, generational and endless wars.

And why our societies are being totalitarianized. No way out: this really is Armageddon.

Bush sacks top generals in preparation for an Iran attack

Before the end of his rogue presidency, Bush seems determined to attack Iran.

The evidence for that becomes clearer every day. Not only is there an ongoing military build-up in the Gulf area but, more ominously, he has now sacked the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Peter Pace, who is known not only to oppose an attack on Iran but to be an opponent of the neocons' plan for a Long or Generational War.

If the Senate approves his nomination, Pace's replacement will be Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Michael Mullen, who is much more in line with Bush and the PNAC neocons. At a recent address of US naval personnel in Pearl Harbour, Mullen stated that "The enemy now is basically evil and fundamentally hates everything we are -- the democratic principles for which we stand ... This war is going to go on for a long time. It's a generational war."

This is undiluted neocon talk: paranoia about hidden enemies justifying an endless war of imperialism, including the use of first-strike 'tactical' nuclear weapons, to subdue the rest of the world by military might and the doctrine of 'compellence,' the very same doctrine which is now forcing Russia to respond with the threat of deploying new nuclear weapons in a strategy of asymmetric warfare.

By creating imaginary enemies, the will of the Military-Industrial Complex is served and a huge and increasing amount of US tax dollars channelled into the pockets of the arms producers.

When Pace goes, there may be a further shake-out of the Joint Chiefs to remove the other top brass who have reportedly opposed the Surge into Iran. I am afraid that may leave it all in the laps of Congress.

Either the Senate Democrats get their act together, block this appointment, AND get on with the overdue job of Impeachment, or we should be ready to start losing more American cities.

Blocking Mullen and Impeaching Bush may be the most important things we ever do.

Meanwhile, in what appears to be part of an orchestrated neocon campaign to press for an attack on Iran, arch-zionist Senator Joe Lieberman is again rattling his sabre by saying Bush must consider a military strike against Iran "because of Tehran's alleged involvement with Iraqi insurgents."

Lieberman said much of the action could probably be done by air, although he would leave the strategy to the generals in charge.

The process of an oligarchy being rapidly totalitarianized through a corrupt political system goes on it would appear at an inexorable pace. Whatever the outward appearance might be Britain is rapidly becoming a police state. Whether or not it will simply remain a de facto Labour-Conservative dictatorship remains to be seen.

As I write the polling booths have just closed for municipal elections throughout the island and parliamentary elections in Scotland and Wales. Everywhere, Tony Blair's Nu Labor is expected to be heading for a debacle. Also, in England to lose votes to the neo-Nazi British National Party (BNP). Increasingly, the old, the disaffected and the marginalized are turning away from Nu Labor in disgust and desperation to choose what used to be a fringe, rightwing, racist party, the BNP. In the main this phenomenon seems to arise from a protest vote but it would be dangerous to dismiss it as such.

What started as a protest vote against the neocon Thatcherite Nu Labor has created a rightward momentum through which you see you see the lowest scum of the earth crawling out from underneath the upturned stone of social discontent. Make no mistake, the BNP is a virus which thrives on political malaise. Whenever capitalism goes into crisis, the extreme right, capital's skeleton-in-the-cupboard, appears as if from nowhere. The anti-Nazi playwright, Bertholt Brecht, made that observation in Weimar Germany. He was right. Hitler followed. And the phenomenon has reappeared everywhere in Europe.

And it will not be stopped by the political status quo which, itself, is very much part of the current political malaise. It should surprise no one that with the collapse of social democracy and consensus politics we have seen those capitalist modes replaced by something far nastier in tooth and claw personified by Reaganism, Thatcherism, the neo-Thatcherite Nu Labor and the brute ideology of opportunism and lies in Straussian 'neo-conservatism'.

There is a descending curve here and we seem to be approaching its nadir. The new totalitarians, the fascists of the 21st century are its product, opportunists who saw the main chance and took it. In the process they have destroyed our limited freedoms with the pretence of protecting 'security' and an utterly fake 'war on terrorism'. Using a compliant mainstream media (MSM) they conduct a relentless war against the truth and sanity. Consigned to a surreptitious brainwashing process, Joe Public is lobomotized into the acceptance of an inverted world of realities, where war is peace, freedom is enslavement and dictatorship masquerades as democracy.

It is in that mirror world we now find ourselves, where not a day goes by without some show trial or false flag operation manufactured by the state's intelligence services. The other day, I reported on the draconian sentences handed out to five so-called terrorists in a British state trial where it is clear that the intelligence services provided their own witnesses.

Mohammed Junaid Babar is one such. Babar is a naturalized US citizen, an ex-computer programmer and FBI informant. He is known to have given evidence in four different countries! It was his testimony, more than any other factor, which incriminated the five unfortunates now incarcerated at Her Majesty's pleasure for most if not all of their mortal existence on Prison Planet. It is also significant that the judge chose to accept a jury verdict given by a simple majority and not by consensus. Already, the likelihood of a blatant mis-trial is everywhere to see indicating that torture by third parties (probably the Pakistani ISI) was used to obtain incriminating 'evidence'.

But who cares? And if they do what is being done to redress justice? The speed by which one attack against our freedoms is superseded by another leaves us reeling. The very day after the recent trial verdict was given, Blair announced yet another refusal to hold an enquiry into the events surrounding a previous, we are told 'terrorist', event: the London bombings on 7/7 2005. His reasons for denying us this: that it might compromise the work of the intelligence services! For once he was speaking the truth. A close and unbiased enquiry --and that would rule out a Blair-controlled public enquiry-- would expose the manner in which the intelligence services have, themselves, played an incriminating part in what were, in the real world, sting operations set up and controlled throughout by said services.

Since the Crevice, 'Fertilizer Bomb' (also known as Bluewater) mis-trial, I have been building up a dossier on it and the call for a 7/7 enquiry. Within 48 hours the size of this dossier is itself daunting. It's going to require some dedicated sleuthing to collate the details. Suffice to say that it really isn't necessary to examine the minutiae of either case to see the blatant manner in which the law is being misused by dictatorial and opportunist politicians such as the Blair Nu Labor crowd to turn their country into an open prison, a panopticon.

Blair and his Nu Labor, together with the Bush War Party in Washington and the Howard quislings in Canberra, must be held to be what they have become: traitors. And the British chapter of these traitors will, I hope, have been put on trial by the electorate on 3 May.

Let's hope that tomorrow will see their demise.

Brown in a moment of forgetfullness?

"Shared Values"?

Yesterday, Gordon (he does that funny thing with his mouth like a frog) Brown, Britain's Blair-in-waiting, got to meet that little prick doing an illegal squat at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Naturally, the BBC made a big thing about it, speculating on its significance and timing.

Frogface is interviewed during which he emphasises the "special values" shared between the two countries. Given the widespread anger and disenchantment that the average Brit feels for the Blair-Brown oligarchy and its brown-nosing of Bush, someone should remind him that he speaks only for himself and the tiny elite which presumes to run a disUnited Kingdom.

These "special values" are always assumed, never questioned. Only at emotional moments will the quislings nail their imperialist colours to the mast and reveal --as Blair did before dragging his country kicking and screaming into committing a war crime in Iraq-- that the destinies of Amerikka and Britain are intertwined in an unspoken racial hierarchy.

"For what they oversee and perpetuate is a vicious racial hierarchy, which manifests itself on practically every axis of life: in the labour market, the prisons, healthcare, the education system and cultural production. That is on a national level: globally, the British empire has been supplanted by the American one, but British soldiers still do their bit for the international racial hierarchy."

This, of course, is the Bush-Cheney-Blair troika's great 21st Century Crusade for Freedom and Democracy against the evil, terrorist Islamic hordes. Instead of 'freedom 'n' democracy' it's much simpler to say 'corporate capitalism' or fascism but we mustn't say that must we because that would give our game away, wouldn't it?

Calling a spade a spade only a professional journo such as John Pilger would dare refer to Blair as 'Duce'. As usual, Pilger's got it exactly right. Not only are contemporary fascists like Blair the antithesis of true democracy but they even strut around in the same macho Mussolini-like way. Though I have to say that when it comes to strutting, chickenhawk Blair doesn't come close to either Musso or Adolf who really had the art of the thing.

As for Frogface, his accession to the throne, should it ever come, will be the greatest non-event of history, celebrated only by a self-indulgent MSM that has really nothing better to do than regurgitate within the bubble of unreality it's paid to keep afloat the 'shared values' of an inherently racist, corporate capitalism (read fascism).

In the same way that President Eisenhower, in his final speech to the Nation, warned the world of the dangers of a developing Military-Industrial Complex, John F. Kennedy tried to warn America of the increasingly secretive way in which the USA was being run by its power cliques.

Today, both Eisenhower's and Kennedy's warnings have come into full fruition. The USA is being run by a secret 'shadow' government on behalf of the obscenely rich and its weapons-producing corporations.

Wars like Vietnam and Iraq were conducted for the sole reason of further enriching corporations like General Motors, Bechtel and Halliburton and the rogues who twice stole the White House from the American people profit from the deaths of all the innocents being killed.
