Russian Parliament backs independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia

Russia’s Parliament has voted to ask the Russian President to recognise independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. In their addresses to each chamber of Parliament the presidents of the two republics have once again said they will never agree to remain within Georgia.
